LET ME HELP YOU SET UP YOUR MEDITATION PRACTICE AND SPECIAL SPACE.

I am forever working on myself and my anxiety. For ever growing, changing and adapting depending on where I’m at. I’m never searching for perfection or expecting a cure to my anxiety just learning ways to cope and manage always.

A practice I have had in place for many years is meditation.

I still prefer guided meditation as I find it easiest to switch off that way personally. Having my own little space set up and ready for my practice means I can squeeze it in when ever I get 10-20 minutes spare.

WHEN TO MEDITATE:

There really are no rules but I found by scheduling it in for a certain time when I first started to be beneficial to make sure I kept at it and set it in place as a strong part of my day. Early morning is the best when you’re first starting out so that its done for the day and you can’t make excuses not to do it later. It also sets your day up in a positive headspace.

I usually like to meditate first thing in the morning to set up my day but recently Ive been finding time to do it in the middle of the day instead and its been a great way to break up the day and re-set. I also like to fall asleep to a sleep meditation at night, Ive always been a bad sleeper and this really has helped me to fall asleep faster.

SET UP YOUR OWN MEDITATION SPACE

All you need to recreate is:

  • Find a small space in your home that’s your new meditation space

  • a yoga mat FIND MINE HERE

  • a cushion

  • a blanket

  • a speaker or just your phone

  • an app or guided meditation to listen to ( I use CALM )

  • essential oils diffuser and your fave grounding oils. FIND MINE HERE

I have been using the Eco Modern Essential oils range to help with my anxiety and during my meditation practice. I find using these oils as a grounding and sensory awareness tool powerful in times of overwhelm and stress.

I use the “anxiety” and the “calm and de-stress” blends for both my meditation practice, as a roller daily and when ever I’m feeling overwhelmed I diffuse them in my room.

By using your senses you can focus on the present rather than letting your mind wander to the future and “what if’s”.

HOW TO FIND A GUIDED MEDITATION TO FOLLOW:

The best thing with guided meditation is that you can find a meditation for the exact emotions you are feeling or wanting to let go of.

Search for those in an app or in You Tube.

For example you can find meditations specifically for – stress, anxiety, fear, trauma, self-care, inner peace, focus, sleep, relationships and for your kids too.

CALM:

I use the app CALM which I absolutely love and recommend. It does have a cost – $108.99 a year but for me its been worth it. It has absolutely everything you need from 5minutes – 25 minute sessions, so many topics, sleep stories, sleep meditations, kids meditations and beginners courses etc.
