You’ve just found out you’re pregnant and you’re going to be a parent – how exciting!
Through out your pregnancy there is an overload of info, books and what to do’s to for yourself to make sure you bring your child in to the world safely.
The next thing you know you’re holding your little bundle of joy in your arms and the hardest job in the world is about to begin – you are suddenly responsible for the raising, development and learning of another human being, one that you want to grow up intelligent, kind and caring. I don’t know about you but it felt like once your baby was actually here the information and help stopped and you were left alone to work out what the hell you’re meant to do to ensure your child grows up with the right behaviours and develops correctly.
You’ve probably heard the saying “Parenting doesn’t come with a handbook.” Well that was true until now – Parenting now has a Handbook thanks to “Triple P – Positive Parenting Program” and what’s even better is that it’s all completely FREE to QLD parents, carers and grandparents.
So what exactly is this amazing “Triple P” I am speaking of? As the website states “Triple P – Positive Parenting Program gives parents simple and practical strategies to help them build strong, healthy relationships, confidently manage their children’s behaviour and prevent problems developing.”
The Triple P program is either delivered face to face through seminars close to you or online.
I am currently doing it online which suits my busy lifestyle perfectly.
So what have I learnt so far?
I am only a couple of modules in but I have learnt so much about the type of parent I want to be and have already been given some strategies and ideas on how to achieve it.
Anyone who follows me knows I am a goal setter and planner in all aspects of my life and the “Triple P – Positive Parenting Program” has helped me to set some goals for my parenting which are now my top priority as there is nothing more important to me than the job of being Millie’s Mum.
As I keep going with the course I will keep you updated so keep an eye out for further blog posts.
If you would like more info and for great parenting tips check out Triple P’s Facebook .
OR you can sign up for the online course here.
Thankyou, Triple P and The QLD Government for giving me the opportunity to become the best type of parent I can be.
